Sentinel 522 Smoke & Odor Destroyer is well received at Surfaces 2011
It was great to reconnect with many of our distributors and to meet some new people at the recent Surfaces show. It was also a good opportunity to help promote some of our restoration products that may have crossover potential within the flooring industry. Specifically, our 522 product appears to be a hit with some carpet and flooring contractors as a hard surface cleaner and odor eliminator that can be used prior to installing new flooring in spaces where odors and stains have been a concern, or where there is fear of the odors returning.
Contact your Sentinel sales representative or your local distributor to learn how Sentinel 522 can rid your space of unwanted odors.
Merry Christmas!
Sentinel will be closed until Monday, December 27th. Have a safe and happy holiday!
Is the world ready for Mastic Monthly…?
“Pulitzer meets Peabody meets Playboy!”, that’s what one person said after reading Sentinel’s newsletter, Mastic Monthly. Now I’m flattered by the praise (Playboy..?), but I think you owe it to yourself to check it out and tell us what you think. Each issue contains information that we hope readers from the flooring, restoration, and remediation industries find helpful, informative or maybe even entertaining. Check out November’s issue here. You can’t beat the price!

Eight states administer independent lead (RRP) rules.
As companies and contractors rush to meet compliance deadlines established by the US EPA, you should also know that eight states have established and enforce their own independent lead (RRP) rules as well. Click on the attached link to visit the RRP Compliance website and learn which states enforce their own rules and what the differences might be.
As always, remember that Sentinel carries a full line of lead-specific, RRP Rule-Compliant cleaners and products.
Sentinel 810 All-Surface Floor Cleaner receives official EPA Design for the Environment designation!
We are excited to finally let you know that our 810 All-Surface Floor Cleaner is DfE Certified!
Sentinel has entered into this voluntary partnership with the U.S. EPA as part of a safer chemical use initiative for commercial formulators. The basic goal of the Design for the Environment (DfE) Initiative is to seek and promote innovative chemical products, technologies, and practices that benefit human health and the environment.
Approved products can carry the EPA/DfE Recognition Mark on the product label as well as in collateral advertising materials. The use of this logo and any EPA recognition does not constitute an endorsement of the product, but signifies that the formula for the product contains ingredients with more positive health and environmental characteristics than conventional cleaners. We think this recognition means more than other “green seals” because it designates products that have met qualifying protocol and EPA recommendations.
Stay tuned for more DfE information and look for 810 in your area, or contact us to learn where you can find it.

EPA eases enforcement of RRP Rule, until October 1, 2010.
Given concerns raised by those in the regulated community regarding getting the required training and worker certification, the EPA will offer additional time for contractors, renovation firms, and workers to get the necessary training and certifications to comply with the EPA RRP Rule as follows:
- Until October 1, 2010, EPA will not take enforcement action for violations of the RRP Rule’s certification requirements.
- For violations of the renovation worker certification requirement, EPA will not enforce against anyone if they have applied for a class, or are enrolled in by not later than September 30, 2010, a certified renovator class. All training must be completed by December 31, 2010.
At Sentinel, we are proud to offer lead-specific cleaners and wipes for the cleaning of lead dust and feel strongly that lead-specific cleaners give contractors the best chance of passing visual inspections. Additionally, we feel that the purpose of the RRP rule is to rid homes and buildings of lead dust and make them safer for occupancy regardless of how or when violations are enforced or when certification is achieved.
Visit our Lead Products page to learn more about our lead-specific cleaners and wipes.
