In addition to Sentinel product training, we offer IICRC Continuing Education Credit courses to help professionals maintain certifications and expand their understanding of restoration and abatement chemistry. Our list of CEC courses continues to grow, so check back often for updates and new offerings.
This course is designed to educate contractors on how to remove flooring adhesive with liquid adhesive removers.
Cleaners, antimicrobials, coatings, sealants, and other chemistry-driven products serve as valuable complementary tools, helping streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance project outcomes. In certain cases, selecting the correct chemistry is critical to the success of the job. Although some materials are applicable across multiple restoration disciplines, each environmental trade also requires at least one remediation method unique to its specific contaminant.
This CEC, Commonalities & Singularities, is designed to highlight both the chemistry skills that transfer across disciplines and the specialized dynamics and products needed for distinct remediation requirements.
Participants will learn about the Encapsulation method of Asbestos Abatement. Asbestos remains among the most prevalent health hazards in structures. Prized for its versatility as an insulator and for resistance to fire, asbestos-containing materials (ACM) were incorporated into innumerable construction products. Only 30% of the asbestos legacy has been addressed, and there is no cutoff date, as new construction can still install ACM today. While there is a vibrant asbestos abatement profession, everyone related to construction needs to understand the processes of abatement: removal, enclosure, or encapsulation. Of these three, encapsulation is both the least understood and, at the same time, often the most advantageous for time and cost savings.
